Tours & ShuttlesAt KMC and the park, there is a surprising array of amenities, services, and activities. You can have a fulfilling vacation without leaving the park. For those of you who do, our tours cover the many wonders of the Big Island. Advance reservations recommended due to limited seating; please call (808) 967-8333.Tours are conducted by experienced guides in air-conditioned vehicles. In addition to the narrated portions of the tour, guests will also have an opportunity to explore certain sites on their own. Due to the nature of certain attractions, access may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. For your touring comfort, we recommend that you dress in layers, bring water, and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or sneakers. Itinerary and prices are subject to change without notice.

FOR INFORMATION OR RESERVATIONS
DEPOSIT INFORMATION: A one night deposit by Check, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard or American Express is required within 15 days of your booking date. It is refundable if a CANCELLATION notice is received at least 30 days prior to your arrival date. All arrival and departure date changes must be made prior to this 30-day period to avoid a deposit forfeit and/or EARLY CHECK-OUT FEE (equivalent to one night’s lodging). Late check-outs when approved are subject to a LATE CHECK-OUT FEE. CHECK-IN: 3:00 p.m. • CHECK-OUT: 11:00 a.m. SHUTTLE SERVICE: Available to and from the Hilo Airport for authorized patrons and sponsored civilians. FY 2010 Fee: $10 per person, one way. Schedule as noted below. Shuttle reservations or cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to avoid a service fee. Allow 1 hour travel time each way. 8:30 a.m. • 12:00 p.m. • 2:30 p.m. PICK-UP AT HILO AIRPORT: 11:00 a.m. • 1:30 p.m. • 3:45 p.m. During peak periods, there may be an additional airport shuttle pick-up on a Thursday or Friday evening. Please call (808) 967-8333 for more information. HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK FEE: KMC is located within the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, an entrance fee of $10 per vehicle or $5 per person on our shuttle will be assessed at the toll booth. The fee is good for seven days. Please retain your receipt to re-enter park. Various National Park passes such as the Golden Eagle, Golden Age, etc. are honored. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From Hilo Airport, turn left onto Hwy.11 and travel south for about 28 miles until you reach the main entrance of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (past mile marker 28). It will take about 1 hour. From Kona International Airport, turn right onto Hwy. 19 south, which will become Hwy. 11 as you pass through Kona. It is about 100 miles to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and can take about 3 hours. Enter the park to get to KMC. Drive 1 mile past the Kilauea Visitor Center, passing the steam vents. There will be a grassy front lawn and row of cottages. In the center of the row is the Headquarters/Front Desk building for check-ins. For convenience and ease, most guests will fly into Hilo Airport. |
